September stepped out of the car and stared at the building that was supposed to be her home for the next year. She then frowned. She had been told by so many people "Oh! Lucky! I wish my parents would send me off to boarding school!" or "Young lady, when I was in boarding school, I made friendships that lasted a lifetime! You are very lucky." and variations on that. September just frowned when her parents told her,"What if I don't want to go to boarding school?"
       Her father just snorted,"YOU don't have a say in the matter. You ARE going so live with it."
       Her mother had taken another approach,"But, sweetie, it will be so much fun! You'll make all sorts of friends and it'll look great on a college application!"
       September just nodded and gone up to her room, slamming the door as she went. Her mother tried to convince her how much fun it would be! September just played along to get her to go away.
It wasn't so much that she was leaving her friends, she didn't have any, but it was that her parents, they didn't even ask her.
       Her mother spent the next month, HER last month of summer vacation, getting her all the stuff she would "need" at school. To fit in, Mrs. O'Neal said. September just played along.
        September pulled her back pack out of the car and walked off, in the rain, with her parents to get her room. As her father held the door open for her, September thought, Rain, your my only friend in this place, and walked inside.
